MUSIC TOURISM: MOTIVATION ANALYSIS OF MUSICAL PILGRIMAGE

Abstract

The musical pilgrimage is that it is a type of music tourism. However, it is not directly related
to musical event, instead it is an act of tourism that associate a place with personal identity
through representative symbols such as musician. A key element to a pilgrimage is not the
destination, but rather the traveler’s motivations.Therefore, this research objectives focus on
motivation. The objective will be to analyze the motivation for musical pilgrimage; the psycho-
factors involved that make an ordinary location into a music iconic attraction.
