Abstract

Over the preceding decades, the avenues for language acquisition through media were limited. However, in contemporary times, there is a burgeoning availability of diverse media resources for language learning, with cartoon programs emerging as a particularly popular and effective method for acquiring proficiency in any given language. This shift signifies a notable transformation in language education strategies.Watching cartoons impact a lot on children’s’ learning process. Cartoons help to emphasis on children’s English language learning. The viewing of cartoons significantly influences the learning processes of children. This assertion is supported by various studies and scholarly references, highlighting the substantial impact that cartoons have on the educational development of young minds.In the course of this research, a comprehensive interview method was employed to gather a diverse range of data, encompassing both qualitative and quantitative insights from. The investigation aimed to illuminate the influence of cartoon programs on children's language fluency, utilizing Krashen’s language acquisition theory as a guiding framework to demonstrate the gradual enhancement of linguistic proficiency through exposure to these programs. This study examines how children become familiar with the language-speaking process and observe the actions of specific characters through the consumption of cartoon programs. Additionally, the research demonstrates that children are expanding their English vocabulary by watching these programs. However, it is noteworthy that some children exhibit a preference for viewing cartoons in languages such as Tamil, Hindi and others. Consequently, those who predominantly watch non-English cartoons may experience limitations in enhancing their English fluency. In contrast, children who engage more with English-language cartoons demonstrate a more pronounced development in English fluency. Cartoons emerge as exceptionally effective tools for learning this language, offering a dual advantage. Not only do children derive enjoyment from watching cartoons, but they also stand to benefit significantly by learning to speak fluently inEnglish language through this engaging medium.
