Abstract

This study aims to provide an overview of the impact, performance, diversity and importance of the IT and ITES industry. It reviews the key trends and challenges facing by the industry and examines the industry's growth and performance over a decade, and discusses the industry's role in shaping the economy and society. The study starts right from the evolution and conclude with a discussion of the future prospects and potential of the ITES industry. This study has encapsulated the recent decade’s performance of IT & ITES, examining the experience of India in exporting IT and ITES, and compiled the data from RBI, STPI, ESC, IBEF, NASSCOM and Various Other sources. It also highlights some initiatives taken by the government in achieving industry success.
