AN EMPIRICAL STUDY OF INCOME AND PERFORMANCE OF COOPERATIVE AND NON-COOPERATIVE SUGARCANE FARMER
Abstract
The study conducted a comparative analysis of the cost and profit of cooperative and non-cooperative sugarcane farmers. The study also looked into the government schemes available to sugarcane farmers and found that only cooperative farmers received the benefits, leaving non-cooperative sugarcane farmers and jaggery producers with fewer economic benefits. Additionally, a comparison was made between the per quintal sugarcane price received by cooperative and non-cooperativefarmers.Primary data was collected through personal interviews and questionnaires using multistage sampling methods.In the study, the hypothesis was tested by Student t-test.In the study, the problems of cooperative and non-cooperative farmers have been studied and suggestions have been given.To analyze the data obtained in the study, the hypothesis has been tested through Microsoft Excel.
