Abstract

Child marriages in India are a significant issue, with a high prevalence among girls under the age of 18. Despite efforts to reduce child marriages, the practice remains widespread, especially in rural areas. The root causes of child marriages are often linked to traditions, customs, and patriarchal beliefs. Stronger enforcement of laws and educational and employment opportunities for girls are crucial in combating this problem.
