Abstract

Employee Engagement is the involvement of individuals in their organization or workplace. An employee is said to be engaged in workplace when the individual is fully satisfied and well known about the job which is assigned to them. Employee Engagement is said to be a positive factor towards the employees. It is gaining its popularity in most of the workplace right from IT sector, Educational Institutions and almost all the workplace where employees are involved. It is important to identify whether the employees are involved in their work. This is because if the employees are disengaged in their work, it reduces the productivity of the workplace which in turn reduces the individual growth of the employees also. The reason behind this study is to find out the need for employee engagement in Higher educational institutions especially with the universities in different countries. Being an employee in educational institutions, Involvement in work cannot be ignored. The employees should be involved in such a way that they contribute for the Institution, Students as well as for their own personal growth. Therefore, there is a need to find out the level of involvement in Academics and Research, the factors contributing to employee engagement. The study was conducted among the faculties in two different universities in two different countries. Both primary data and secondary data was used for the study to collect data. In order to find out the results of the study various SPSS tools like ANOVA, Mann Whitney U Test, Kruskal Wallis H Test, Factor Analysis and chi-square test were used. The study results are found to be satisfactory with the level of involvement of employees.
