A STUDY ON DIMENSIONS OF DIGITAL COMPETENCE AMONG THE STUDENT TEACHERS
Abstract
Today’s prospective teachers are the tomorrows pillars of the nation who have high responsibility is shaping the future citizen for that they have to become the role models by applying the digital competence in their teaching and learning process. Digital Competence can be studied under five different areas they are namely Information and Data Literacy, Communication and Collaboration, Digital Content Creation, Safety, and Problem-Solving (Ferrari, 2013). Descriptive Survey method was adopted in the present study. B.Ed college student teachers of Chennai District were used as a sample for the study. Data is collected from 791 student teachers from different types of colleges like government, government aided and private college are involved in this present study. Results of the present study are there is significant difference between the type of family, laptop users, medium of instruction and type of colleges.
